Complex Shop Floor Data Collection and SAP Integration Requirements Drive Decision for Selection of AutoTime
In August of 2000 Goodrich Aerostructures, the largest division of Goodrich Corporation, made a strategic decision to replace its legacy systems with SAP R/3. The implementation would cover six large facilities: four in North America and two in Europe and close to 5,000 employees. Furthermore, Goodrich established an extremely aggressive "go live" date of January 1, 2002, for all modules. Just a little over one year from start to finish. 

Soon after Goodrich began mapping its requirements it determined that it would need to complement R/3 with a robust shop floor data collection system that would provide real time visibility of labor against projects and production orders and calculate gross pay. Goodrich's current system, custom developed over 20 years, had been fine tuned to meet Goodrich's precise requirements.

The Goodrich team evaluated several options in the marketplace but quickly came to a unanimous conclusion: the AutoTime solution was the only one that could meet Goodrich's demanding functional requirements and had a proven and stable bi-directional SAP R/3 interface to Production Planning, Project Systems, and Plant Maintenance modules. Eight months later Goodrich went live with SAP R/3 and AutoTime in one of the largest, most complex implementations ever in A&D.
