Even Under Complex Rules, AutoTime is the Simple Solution.

In 1999, Dana-Spicer Off Highway Products Division in Statesville, North Carolina, was tasked with identifying a single Workforce Management solution that would satisfy the needs of their own manufacturing facility, and serve as a pilot program for four other Dana Divisions, each with unique requirements.

Aiming to standardize the Workforce Management software at multiple diverse Dana sites, there were four critical evaluation criteria that had to be met. The application had to:

  • Collect labor and apply it against multiple jobs on multiple machines
  • Handle both simple and complex work and pay rules as each facility had a unique manufacturing profile, including work rules that varied widely and were sometimes exceedingly complex
  • Allow employees to make only one entry per transaction
  • Interface with Oracle, SSA Baan, and multiple legacy systems

Dana-Spicer selected AutoTime because it was Oracle-certified and could interface with their Oracle Manufacturing system seamlessly. None of AutoTime's competitors were certified and if they could interface at all, they required two entries per transaction.

Only six weeks after selecting AutoTime, the Dana Statesville facility went live. Today they utilize the time and attendance, labor collection, and labor accounting functionality of the application. Because the pilot program was so successful, AutoTime has been installed at 16 Dana Facilities that employ over 6,500 people.
