Kaba Benzing Touch screen Terminal Demonstrates Advanced Time and Labor Data Collection at SAP® Global Custom Development Services

MIRAMAR, FL.- January 21, 2003- Kaba Benzing, a subsidiary of $800 million Kaba Holding AG and worldwide leader in time and labor management systems, today announced that it has installed its B-Net 9580 color VGA touch screen terminal at SAP-Global Custom Development Services in Newtown Square, Penn. The B-Net 9580 records personnel, job, machine capacity, stock, quality and maintenance data as well as provides employees with a touch screen kiosk for retrieving and viewing such HR information as schedules, vacation and sick balances.

SAP Global Custom Development Services provides customers with direct access to SAP developers, partners and business experts with the knowledge and experience to successfully plan and execute high-quality custom development projects that meet the specific needs of individual businesses.

The B-Net 9580 supports a wireless or hardwired Ethernet interface, allowing it to be integrated into existing infrastructures. This Windows-based PC terminal also features a large standard 10.4- or optional 15-inch touch screen display, which effortlessly lets production workers and management interact with the SAP R/3 solution. Work instructions, selection lists such as those needed for cost center changes or unfilled orders, drawings, complete documents or Internet sites are viewed on the graphics display. When used as a kiosk system for employee self-service functions, employees access Intranet information such as vacation time available, submit vacation requests and review and download work instructions.

To make data input easy, the B-Net 9580 is multi-lingual and accepts data from multiple sources. For recording production and labor data, the terminal reads up to two different types of credentials, including visible or IR barcode touch and swipe readers, barcode reading pens, barcode scanners, magnetic stripe cards, LEGIC or HID RFID cards and inductive insertion credentials. Integrated Machine Data Collection functionalities create a connection between machines and people, such as the recording of machine cycles and malfunctions.

We are very pleased to be involved with SAP Global Custom Development Services," emphasizes John C. EdwaVicrds, Kaba-Benzing America's President & General Manager.
