Regardless of Pay Rules, All Employees Use Same
Terminal
MIRAMAR, FL. – May 6, 2004 – Kaba Benzing,
a subsidiary of $800 million Kaba Holding AG and worldwide leader in
time and labor management systems , today announced that Elgin,
Ill.-based School District U-46 is abandoning its legacy, manual
systems and implementing Kaba Benzing's B-COMM™ time and attendance
and labor reporting software and 70 B-9540 terminals to better run
payroll for its over 1700 employees. District U-46 serves 39,558
students in a 90 square mile area in Cook, DuPage and Kane counties,
just west of Chicago . The biggest community served is Elgin .
B-COMM™ furnishes accurate labor information and complete labor
accounting methods to an enterprise time and labor application. It
supports labor distribution and material movement tracking for
exempt and non-exempt personnel. The integrated solution extends
enterprise solutions directly to payroll and financial departments
by incorporating real-time data collection from remote geographical
locations.
Data will be collected on Kaba Benzing B-Net-9540 terminals. The
terminals store over 10,000 master records and 50,000-plus bookings.
A multi-tasking operating system ensures that the terminals are
always ready for data entry, even during a data transfer to the
application. Displays present high impact graphics without the cost
of expensive VGA screens. User interaction is easily accomplished
with soft ATM-style keys.

would let multiple groups use the same terminal. Different work
categories have different payroll rules. Whether the employee works
