CHICAGO – May 6, 2004 – “With Kaba Benzing's
B-COMM™ for Time and Labor systems, major ERP users can now
accommodate multiple groups of employees on a single time clock,”
advises Rick Stenquist, president of HOW Consulting Group, a
PeopleSoft integrator for over eight years. “Historically, this has
been a very difficult thing to do.”
Stenquist adds that Kaba Benzing B-COMM™ is an XML-based software
that links Kaba Benzing terminals and other hardware data collection
devices to enterprise time and labor systems. This certified
software automates and validates the collection of the employee and
labor data for entry into these systems to provide real-time time
and attendance and labor task management reporting. B-COMM™ supports
labor distribution and material movement tracking for both exempt
and non-exempt personnel. Employees can enter time from remote
locations regardless of the industry or geographic location. Data is
then available for multiple uses.
“A key feature of B-COMM™ is the XML communication,” emphasizes
Stenquist. “XML is where many software systems are going in the
future and it allows true flexibility and future compatibility with
other systems and platforms. Since future systems will leverage XML,
this a definitive advantage for those customers who use B-COMM.”
According to Stenquist, Kaba Benzing makes it easier on both
integrators and customers by providing a total software and hardware
solution.
“The Kaba Benzing time clocks (terminals) are well-engineered and
adaptable to all types of environments,” says Stenquist. “They can
be used in the corporate office as well as at shop floor locations
with multiple airborne contaminants. Display features on the
terminals are easily configurable. They are easy to set-up, easy to
change and can be tailored specifically to an organization's
employees, who, in most cases, want simply to punch in and out
without a lot of complex routines. Most employees do not want to
read an encyclopedia of instructions at the time clock.
“Furthermore, any PC can be configured to serve as a terminal for
the B-COMM™ software, allowing organizations to leverage their
existing hardware investments by creating ‘instant time clocks' out
of existing PC's. Nearly all of the features available on a standard
B-COMM™ time clock can be made available on the PC version of the
clock software.”
