Messier-Dowty Implementing Kaba Workforce Solutions AutoTime for Time & Attendance

Aerospace Manufacturer Interfaces AutoTime With ERP Software; Sought Dedicated, Consolidated Solution to Support Business Needs

MIRAMAR, FLA. – February 24, 2005 – Kaba Workforce Solutions, the North American operating subsidiary of $900 million Kaba Holding AG and worldwide leader in enterprise workforce management systems, today announced that Messier-Dowty (United Kingdom), the world leader in the design, development, manufacture and support of landing gear systems, is implementing its AutoTime time and attendance software on their shop floor at the Gloucester site. Messier-Dowty has a workforce of nearly 3,000 employees at eight locations across Europe, North America and Asia.

AutoTime is a Best-in-Class COTS (Commercial Off-the-Shelf) application for time and attendance, labor distribution, and material movement tracking for exempt and non-exempt personnel. AutoTime captures and processes direct and indirect labor and calculates employee payroll in environments ranging from simple to complex. It offers strategic value to companies concerned with their use and cost of direct and indirect labor. It is highly configurable and quickly accommodates ever-changing, complex work rules that govern employee pay.

"We are currently working with a 13-year-old data collection system that has a few creaks. In addition, we are currently re-engineering out processes in a bid to rationalize the number of software packages supporting our business needs," explains Project Manager Malcolm Page of Messier-Dowty. "We chose AutoTime because of its ability to interface with Cincom, our ERP software and its functionality is well suited to the aerospace industry. Boeing uses AutoTime and that was a good referral for us. AutoTime gives us two-way communication, whereas our old system is only one way. We will soon have extra functionality, quicker reaction times, and data as live as you can get."

AutoTime will interface with Cincom, Human Resources and payroll software applications at Messier-Dowty. The company will be using all of AutoTime's features, including time and attendance and labor capture. Labor will be captured via part and batch numbers.
Employees will be able to use any Kaba B-Net 9580 terminal with its 10-inch color touch screen to clock in. Terminals will be placed on the shop floor, while other employees will use their own computer terminals. The information collected will then be transferred to the appropriate software.

“Messier-Dowty will reap the benefits of our many previous AutoTime aerospace installations, achieving a fast and smooth integration with other mission-critical software applications," emphasizes John Edwards, President and General Manager of Kaba Workforce Solutions. “AutoTime will now help them reach their goal of a dedicated, consolidated reporting environment.”
AutoTime is installed at over 300 individual sites employing from 150 to 15,000 employees and interfaces with leading ERP, HCM (human capital management), payroll and enterprise systems.
